The Feinberg family

Brana Libka (Ludwika) Kempner was born on February 16, 1873, in Płock, to Ludwik, a bookstore and printing house owner, and his wife Tauba née Kon. In 1897, she married Izaak Feinberg (born 1867), a doctor of medicine from Nieśwież, the son of Szmul and Chaja née Feder. Feinberg was a graduate of the University of Warsaw (graduating in 1895), a specialist in internal medicine, head of the Izaak Fogel Jewish Hospital in Płock, a physician at the District Health Fund, and a social activist involved in the Jewish Charity Society.
Brana Libka and Izaak had two sons: the younger, Nikodem, was born in Mława on April 24, 1899, and the older, Henryk, in Płock on August 10, 1905.
Just before the outbreak of World War II, Brana Libka and Izaak Feinberg lived at 14 Grodzka Street. Before their deportation from the Płock Ghetto, they lived at 9 Józefa Kwiatka Street (Breite Strasse 9).
During the Holocaust, Brana Libka was sent to the Żarnowiec ghetto, where she was murdered by the Germans in 1942. The date of Izaak’s death remains unknown.
