New permanent exhibition and the Memorial Wall in the Treblinka Museum

On 1 February 2024, at a meeting organized at the Jewish Historical Institute, the director of the institute, Monika Krawczyk, and the director of the Treblinka Museum, Edward Kopówka, signed an agreement on cooperation in creating the museum’s permanent exhibition. The opening is scheduled for the 83rd anniversary of the prisoners’ uprising in Treblinka, on August 2, 2026.

The team responsible for developing the exhibition will be led by Prof. Andrzej Żbikowski. The new museum will include a Memorial Wall, the preparation of which will be the work of Ewa Teleżyńska-Sawicka and Paweł Sawicki from the Memory of Treblinka Foundation, which collects and promotes knowledge about the camp, collects existing accounts of witnesses and survivors, and publishes the names of people, who were murdered in Treblinka.

There will be approximately 120,000 names on the Memorial Wall, including the names of Jews from Płock.
