Chaskiel Henryk Szenwic was born on July 14, 1906, in the family of an accountant Noach Jojne and Maria née Brylant. He was a graduate of the King Władysław Jagiełło Middle School in Płock and the Electrotechnical Institute in Toulouse. As an electrical engineer, he worked at the Municipal Power Plant in Płock – its construction began on October 11, 1927, after a series of tests, it was launched on July 31, 1929, and the period of operation began on September 1, 1929. From 1933, Chaskiel Szenwic was also a member of the “Dionizy Kowalski & Co.” building company. The subject of the company’s activity was the performance of all construction works. Another partner in the enterprise was his brother Jakub Lejb (Lucjan) Szenwic, born on August 16, 1910, a trader.
Before the war, Chaskiel Henryk Szenwic lived in a tenement house at 11 Old Market Square.
During World War II, he stayed in the Warsaw Ghetto, where he was active in the Jewish Combat Organization. He took part in the uprising that broke out on April 19, 1943. He died in the fight against the German occupiers.
