Hersz Herman Szenwic (1877-1927), son of Manchajm and Tauba Itta née Borensztejn, was married to Felicja née Kon (born 1886), daughter of Lewek and Itta Maria née Kuniga. The couple had two daughters: Eugenia and Sara aka Stefania, who were born in 1908 and 1912 in Płock. Hersz Herman Szenwic was a professional merchant, and after the birth of his second daughter, he moved permanently with his family to Łódź – a dynamically developing center of the textile industry in Eastern Europe, where he ran a company in the textile industry.

As noted in “Głos Poranny” newspaper of November 29, 1931:

This month, the 30th anniversary of its existence is celebrated by the H. Szenwic factory of tricot and knitted products known on the local market, the retail store at 128 Piotrkowska Street, which has won the recognition of a great part of the population. Wanting to provide everyone, even the least affluent, with supplies of its products, starting from Monday, 30 this month, it organizes a sale in a special place at 128 Piotrkowska Street in the courtyard, setting the prices for 1 week sensationally low.

The same newspaper on December 24, 1936 reported:

The company has existed for 30 years. It manufactures pullovers, sweaters and sporting goods from the best domestic and foreign raw materials according to the latest Parisian and Viennese models. The company excels over other companies in this industry because, having its own production plant, it is able to execute any custom-made order within 2-3 days.

After the death of Hersz Herman Szenwic, the workshop of knitted products changed its name to “Herman Szenwic’s Heirs”. Hersz Herman’s heirs were Felicja Szenwic née Kon, Eugenia Szenwic, who married Władysław Teszuer, and Sara vel Stefania Szenwic, who, pursuant to a deed drawn up in the office of the Chełmicki Notary Public on April 24, 1934, ceded all her share in the enterprise to her mother and older sisters.

Majer (Maks) Szenwic (1874-1938), son of Markus and Augusta née Ginsberg, also connected his personal and professional life with Łódź. In 1911 he married Stefania Glazer. He lived at 182 Piotrkowska Street. He was a partner in “Kaftal Heyman Trade and Expeditionary Store” with its registered office at 13 Sienkiewicza Street, a partner in the “Ataw Łódź Society of cotton wool and bandage manufactures” (the purpose of the enterprise located at 5 Nowo-Zarzewska Street was the fabrication of cotton wool and bandages and running a spinning mill), a partner of the “Trykot Łódź Society of knitted and hosiery products” at 63 Ludwiki Street, which was involved in the fabrication and sale of knitted and hosiery products. He was also a member of the board of “Kosmos Expeditionary and Trade Office”, “Maurycy Tauman Joint-stock company for trade and production of silk and cotton goods in Łódź” and “Albin Vodka and Liquor Factory”. Maks Szenwic was also the owner of the company “Maks Szenwic. Agentura” existing since September 1, 1926, with its registered office at 37 Kosciuszki Avenue.

Majer (Maks) Szenwic went down in the history of the city of Lodz as a social activist with inexhaustible energy: treasurer of the Association of Mutual Help of Commercial Employees of the city of Lodz, one of the founders and longtime vice-president of the Central Association of Real Estate Owners in Lodz, and vice-president of the Supervisory Committee of the Credit Society of Lodz. He was known especially for his masterful conduct, sometimes in very difficult conditions, of general meetings at the Credit Society of the city of Łódź, which he usually chaired.
